History of Rauga

Rauga is one of the ancient names of Rey city. In the Pahlavi language Rauga, in Kurdish Sorani Rauga and in Kurdish Kermanji Rey means way. Since this city is in the center of the roads of the Iranian plateau and along the Silk Road, researchers know the reason for naming it. Some also believe that after the presence of Muslims in Iran due to the inability of the Arabic language in the Rauga dialect, the name Rey has been replaced.
